Meet the Team

Dr. Tyson Radons, Psy.D. | Owner and Licensed Psychologist | Director of Wellness Services- Colorado FOP

FROM COP...

13 years in uniform.

More than 200 crisis negotiations.

A firsthand view of what a high stress, high trauma job can cost.

Dr. Tyson Radons, Psy.D. began his public safety career in 2007 at the Vancouver Jail and joined the Vancouver Police Department as a sworn Constable in 2008. Over the next 13 years, he worked patrol, training, mental health outreach, and leadership roles in high-pressure environments across Vancouver.

In 2014, he joined the Crisis Negotiator Unit and later served as a Crisis Negotiator Supervisor, helping lead responses to suicides, kidnappings, barricaded subjects, hostage events, and other critical incidents.

That work made one thing clear: too many responders were being offered support that sounded right on paper but missed the culture, identity, and reality of the job.

...TO CLINICIAN

He left law enforcement to become the kind of psychologist responders could trust.

Dr. Tyson moved to Colorado and earned both his M.A. and Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Denver. He trained across community mental health, forensic settings, and therapy with individuals and couples, while continuing to focus on the populations he knew best: responders and their families.

He later served as an in-house clinician and trainer for the Thornton Police Department and as a Wellness Specialist and Crisis Consultant with the Denver Department of Public Safety, supporting Denver Police, Denver Fire, the Denver Sheriff Department, and Community Corrections.

Today, TFR Wellness Group provides in-person services across the Denver metro area and telehealth throughout Colorado for first responders, military, veterans, couples, and other adults shaped by trauma, burnout, and prolonged stress. The work is direct, evidence-based, and culturally fluent- built for people who carry a lot and show very little.

Matt Holl | Clinical Intern

FROM VETERAN/COP...

Matthew Holl brings a distinct background of service to his clinical work, having served as a Staff Sergeant in the Air Force Security Forces from 2014 to 2021, while concurrently entering law enforcement, where he served from 2017 to 2025.

Over his years in uniform, he experienced firsthand what happens when the cumulative trauma of the job piles up, eventually eroding his relationships and his purpose in life. Realizing later that much of that struggle could have been avoided if he had sought help sooner is exactly why he transitioned from the field to the therapy chair.

Matthew does not use academic platitudes or clinical buzzwords; he is dedicated to being the clinician he once needed.

...TO CLINICIAN

His approach is practical, direct, and focused on the person rather than a diagnosis. He works with peers to tackle the specific issues unique to the uniform: trauma, moral injury, burnout, and identity transitions. His goal is to provide a straight-talking, confidential space where first responders can filter out the noise and find concrete strategies to stabilize both their work and home life.

Matthew earned his undergraduate degree from North Carolina Central University and is completing his Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Adams State University. Following his initial clinical training, he begins his formal internship at TFR Wellness Group in August 2026. A Castle Rock resident, husband to a nurse, and father of four, Matthew recharges by fly fishing, hunting, hiking, backpacking, and traveling with his family.

"I have walked the miles in those boots. Let's figure out what comes next."

What you can expect

Simply put, you can expect direct, grounded, and clinically sharp mental health support. Therapy here is not vague, passive, or one-size-fits-all. The work is thoughtful and practical. We look at what has shaped you, how it is showing up now, and what needs to shift so life feels less driven by pressure and more like your own again.

You may look fine from the outside. You show up, perform, handle responsibility, and keep moving. But internally you may feel worn down, reactive, disconnected, on edge, or unlike yourself. We work with adults dealing with trauma, PTSD, burnout, chronic stress, anxiety, irritability, emotional numbness, overcontrol, and relationship strain. Many of our clients are first responders or professionals in high-responsibility roles, though we also work with adults whose pressure is less visible and just as costly.

Our approach is direct, thoughtful, and grounded. We look at how trauma and prolonged stress show up in daily life, at work, at home, in your body, and in the patterns that once helped you keep going. From there, therapy focuses on meaningful change: less reactivity, more emotional range, stronger relationships, and a life that feels less driven by pressure alone.

If you are tired of holding it together on the outside while paying for it underneath, this may be a good place to start.
